About me
Hi, I’m Chris Paul, and I’ve been teaching children for more than 25 years across both primary and secondary schools.
Over that time, I’ve supported hundreds of pupils in maths, English, 11+ preparation and GCSE, helping them grow in confidence, ability and enjoyment of learning.
MY TEACHING JOURNEY
I’ve been a fully qualified teacher for 25 years, and I firmly believe that children learn best when they are enjoying their lessons and feel well-supported by their teachers.
Couple this with great communication with parents who know that they can contact you for advice with any issue or problem that their child is facing, and you have a relationship that inspires children to reach for their best, and parents know that their children are in expert hands.
Over 25 years, I have:
• Taught across primary and secondary schools in Hertfordshire.
• Been a former Head of Education in a private tutoring company.
• I am experienced in preparing children for 11+ entrance exams, SATs, and GCSE maths.
• Extensive experience in supporting children with SEND needs who require personalised learning.
• Most of all, I bring a pastoral care element to each of my classes, enabling my students to really believe in themselves.
This wide experience means I can see the bigger picture – I know exactly what children need at each stage of their school journey, and I can tailor lessons to get the very best from them.
My Approach
Every child is different. That’s why my lessons are always:
• Tailored – focusing on your child’s specific strengths and needs.
• Supportive – building confidence and reducing anxiety.
• Challenging – stretching all children to reach their full potential.
• Enjoyable – because children learn best when they’re engaged.
Parents often tell me that their children not only improve academically, but also develop a renewed enthusiasm for learning.
KIND WORDS
“We were so impressed with the progress our son made preparing for the 11+. Chris explained things clearly and made the lessons engaging. He passed his 11+, getting into his first choice of school, and we couldn’t be happier.”
- Michael, Watford
"Chris has a gift for making children feel at ease. Our daughter was anxious about her Year 6 SATs, but with his support she went in feeling calm and prepared and came out knowing that she’d done her best."
- Samantha, St Albans
"The small group sessions worked brilliantly for my son. He loved working alongside other children but still got the personal attention he needed. He would regularly come out saying, ‘Chris makes it really fun!’"
- Sarah, Bushey
