At Chris Paul Tuition, I provide high quality one-to-one and small group tuition in Primary and Secondary Maths, English, 11+ and GCSE preparation.

One-to-One Tuition (£45/hr)
Every child is different, and one-to-one tuition allows for personalised lessons, focused entirely on your child’s needs.
Perfect for filling their individual knowledge gaps or boosting confidence.
Tailored strategies for exam preparation (SATs, 11+, GCSE).
Ideal for children who prefer individual support or for those children who need that personalised approach.
Small Group Tuition
Affordable, engaging tuition in small groups of 6 - 8 children. Many children enjoy learning in small groups, as they gain ideas from listening to others, while also gaining confidence to share their own ideas.
Discussing topics in partners or small groups helps children to mimic what their larger school classes look and feel like, which boosts their confidence in school.
Encourages collaborative learning and motivation.
Lessons are targeted but allow children to learn alongside peers.
Group size kept small so every child still gets individual attention.
Differentiated resources are included for every child as part of the lesson fee.
11+ Preparation (£23 per lesson)
Specialist tuition in GL Assessment style:
Verbal reasoning strategies.
Maths and English skills tailored to exam requirements.
Step-by-step exam strategies and timed practice.
Resource videos showing your child how to do every style of question so they’ll never forget.
Many of our pupils have gone on to secure places at selective and private secondary schools in Watford, Bushey, St Albans and Rickmansworth.
Nursery (£15 per lesson)
Nursery lessons are fun and engaging, helping children to gain confidence prior to starting Reception as well as enabling them to learn key skills matched to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Activities include:
Maths games focusing on number recognition, counting, shapes and money.
Phonics – focusing on individual letter sounds, getting children ready for reading in Reception.
Writing – practising initial letter and number formation and pencil grip.
Activities to help children to develop a rich and enjoyable connection to nursery rhymes and stories.
Nursery lessons are 45 minutes long, and each child receives their own learning resource pack to help them with their learning.
Reception (£20 per lesson)
Reception classes follow on from Nursery and are split into two parts. The first half of the lesson focuses on phonics, reading and writing. Our phonics scheme has been specifically designed to complement all current phonics programmes used in schools, so no matter what scheme your child uses, our resources will complement it.
The second half of the lesson focuses on the maths skills taught in Reception with fun and engaging activities designed to build maths fluency and confidence while matching perfectly to the EYFS Curriculum.
Years 1 – 6 (£23 per lesson)
Lessons are differentiated for children in each year group focusing on developing the maths, reading, writing and phonics skills that children will learn.
Maths activities include:
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division strategies
Times Tables
Worded problems
Graphs
Shapes
Fractions, decimals and percentages
Algebra
KS1 and KS2 SATs practise
English activities include:
Phonics, including preparation for the Year 1 phonics screening check
Activities designed to develop fiction and non-fiction writing
Reading comprehension
Vocabulary
Spelling, grammar and punctuation (SPaG)
Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7-9 & GCSE - £24/£28 per lesson)
In Key Stage 3, I support children as they make the transition from Primary to Secondary school and help them to deepen their curriculum knowledge in both maths and English.
This gradually works towards Years 10 and 11, where all GCSE topics are covered, and extensive exam preparation helps my students to consolidate their learning and achieve the highest grades possible.
